Having the ask box closed on Ask Humantale doesn’t mean ‘come send humantale asks over here.’ I appreciate the curiosity, and I will answer this one because I want to, but just letting you know that you really should not be doing that, okay?

But yeah. At the moment the pets are this:

Cyrus has a pet bunny named Fluffernutter, or Fluffnut. Her name was originally Fluffy Bunny, but she’s brown and white, so Sans nicknamed her Fluffnut.

Gaster has two horny toads who are currently unnamed, but they’re also sort of Sans’ too. (They’re based on the Gaster Blasters.) 

There’s also a little white dog which may or may not be a stray (it has no tags, but it looks fairly well-kept) that shows up around the Fontaine house and likes to sneak away with Cyrus’ socks. 

The ghost cousins have a cat, which also doesn’t have a name at the moment.

And that’s all we’ve got right now.

(Ariel wants a baby goat really bad, but neither Tori or Asher are comfortable taking care of a goat.)

Hate to break it to you, but it’s not just humantale. That’s the case with a majority of my art. 

As for why, take a look at any form of media–tv show, movie, book, comic, cartoon, anything–and you’re bound to find a cast that is probably all comprised of a cis people. Maybe you’ll get a token trans person, maybe you’ll get something like Steven Universe or Undertale where there’s implications of nonbinary genders or a transitioned character or they/them pronouns, but most of the time, they’re all assumed cis unless otherwise explicitly stated. 

People will still assume and defend a cis interpretation even in those situations, so tbh it’s just really exhausting to never see representation for yourself. People have different ways of reinterpreting media to include them when they’ve always been excluded.

My preferred method, the one that helps me to feel less exhausted for a while, is to have pretty much nobody be cis. Because if you can have an overwhelming amount of media with assumed cis casts, then why can’t you have the reverse?

So yeah, idk if this was a serious ask or just trying to be antagonistic, but there’s my serious answer for anyone who was wondering.
